Large numbers of stock presented for sale this week as weather conditions have deteriorated. Prices and trade have taken a hit also with plainer type stock the hardest hit while quality stores still remain a good trade. The heifer ring despite a reduction in prices witnessed good demand with quality lots making up to €4.70 a kilo, while breeding type heifers made up to €3100. The weanling ring recorded a top price of €8.43 a kilo for a Charolais bull weanling while €7.23 a kilo was the tops for the heifer weanlings with Charolais weanling the best sellers.
