1800 Cattle and calves were sold at Kilmallock Mart this week. There was a strong demand from exporters, farmers and factory agents for all types of cattle and calves. Bullocks sold for up to €2280 each or €5.40 per kg for lots less than 550kg. Heavier bullocks made up to €2900 each or €4.12 per kg. Dry cows made up to €2400 a head or €3.32 per kg. Heifers hit €2510 each or €6.00 per kg. Calves made up to €905 each this week. Dairy stock made up to €3000. The final Munster Angus breeder’s sale of the spring was held on Saturday. Top price was €6200 for a red Angus.
