1100 Cattle and calves were sold at Kilmallock Mart this week. Calves and stores were a very strong trade. Bullocks less than 550kg sold for up to €1920 each or €4.60 per kg. Heavier bullocks sold for up to €2200 a head or €3.54 per kg. Dry cows made up to €2080 each or €2.97 per kg. Heifers sold for up to €2100 a head or €4.41 per kg. Dairy stock made up to €2520 each. Calves made up to €835 this week. Sucklers hit €2300 per unit. A reminder that the Wednesday night calf sale in Kilmallock and Dromcollogher on Thursday are now over for the season.
