Fair size sale in Kilrush today with 351 on offer, which included 150 calves. Calves held a great trade despite shippers being very quiet due to no sailings these days. A good mix of AAX & HEX calves available. Stronger calves are paying very well and its definitely worth farmers time feeding calves on for an extra 10 days. FR bulls made €130 to €370, AAX heifer calves made to €480 and AAX bulls made to €580, with HEX bulls making to €530. No great change in bullock prices but heifers over 450kgs were back 10c/kg. Cull cows over 600kgs holding the trade but store types were easier by 10c/kg.
